This weekend I got to meet Brad's best friend, Chris, who is visiting from West Point on his spring break. Saturday me and Brad went to the Hunger Banquet and we got put into the low income class where we ate rice and beans with 5 other people. It was really fun...they split everyone into high income, middle income, and low income classes and then fed you accroding to your class. We sat on the ground, the middle class had chairs, and the high income class gets to sit at fancy tables. It was a really fun evening with performances by the BYU dance ensemble, an African youth dance group, and some Buddhist drummers. At the end they had a key speaker, who was a woman who works with orphanages and women around the world. It was really cool because she talked about how each of us can make a difference no matter how small and how usually development starts with small things we can do. She told a story about a woman in Africa who just froma simple act of kindness towards two refugee children she started a program or group within her community for the care of homeless children and children with AIDS. It is amazing to me what a difference one person can make if they put forth the effort.
Sunday night I went to Brad's sister's house and we got to visit with her cute little kids. We started playing a throwing game with them and got them all riled up :D It was lots of fun and then after the klids went to sleep we played cranium and ate some really good cake cookies. It was nice to be able to meet Brad's sister Meghan, and her husband Brent as well...they were really nice and we had tons of fun playing Cranium with them.
Monsay night we threw a St. Patrick's Day Party and it was tons of fun! We were not sure how many people would show up, but we had a pretty good turn out. We had tons of green food and we even put green dye in the sprite to turn it green. We played cards, ate, and just socialized with everyone and it turned out really well.
the moment you've all be waiting for...
